Suraju Olusegun Ajadi

Prof. Suraju Olusegun Ajadi was born in Ede, Osun State Nigeria over five decades ago.

He was admitted to study B.Sc. Mathematics at the Obafemi Awolowo University in 1989 and was awarded Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Mathematics with Second Class Upper Division in 1994. After the mandatory one-year NYSC as Graduate Assistant in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics of the University of Calabar, he enrolled for and obtained his Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in 1999 and 2005 respectively from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.

In 2002, he was a young Collaborator (under Prof. S.S. Okoya) at the Abdul-Salam ICTP, Trieste, Italy.  He was a postdoctoral fellow at the Department of Mathematics, Ben- Gurion University of Negev, Beer-Sheva, Israel between 2007 and 2009; and a Research Fellow at the Central European University, Budapest, Hungary in 2014.

As a young man with a passion for acquiring and imparting knowledge, Prof.  Ajadi started his academic career in the Department of Mathematics, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, as a Graduate Assistant in November 1996. He was regraded to the rank of Assistant Lecturer in 1999 after bagging his M.Sc. degree. In 2001, he became a Lecturer Grade II and in 2003, he became a Lecturer Grade I. He attained the enviable rank of Senior Lecturer in 2006 and was pronounced Reader in 2009. He attained the peak of his career as a Professor of Applied Mathematics in 2012.

He has supervised and currently supervising students at undergraduate, masters and doctoral levels. He has publications in diverse areas spanning but not limited to Fluid Mechanics, Computer Science, Modeling in Combustion and Mathematical modelling of Cancer Treatments and Climate Dynamics. He has attended Conferences and workshops across Africa, Europe and others. He is currently the OAU Project Leader for EU Erasmus Mundus Project on International Masters programme on Embedded Artificial Intelligence project (Project 101082478 — EmbeddedAI).
