Olushola Segun Odusanya

 

Dr. Olushola S. Odusanya is currently the Director General/CEO of The National Centre for Technology Management (NACETEM) an Agency under The Ministry of Science and Technology, a position he assumed in 2023. Dr. Odusanya’s interests include Digitizing operational activities of the Civil Service starting with the Agency (NACETEM), Implementing the reformation plan of the Civil Service, applying biotechnological principles to enhance engineering applications and in developing of engineering devices used in targeted drug delivery systems, bio-orthopedic and orthotic applications as well as polymer processing.

Other interests are in the commercial exploitation of research findings. His current research efforts have led to the application of an indigenous drug candidate – prodigiosin in the targeted treatment of breast cancer.  Currently, he serves as the regional coordinator of the Math and Science for Sub-Saharan Africa (MS4SSA) an initiative to promote innovative teaching methods in secondary schools across West Africa and promote good learning outcomes. 

Dr. Odusanya was the project Manager of the SHESTCO-Princeton-AUST collaboration on materials science that the World Bank funded under the STEP-B project.  He is on the African Materials Research Society (AMRS) international scientific advisory board and the MS4SSA initiative.

Dr. Odusanya has acquired two US patents, co-filed two invention disclosures on theranostic drug delivery, and published extensively in international high-impact factor journals in collaboration with local and international partners. He is also the Co-Center Leader/Director of the Pan African Materials Institute (PAMI) a World Bank Center of Excellence at the African University of Science and Technology. Since 2012, he has served as a visiting Associate Professor of Materials Science and Engineering.
