Matthew Olumide Adepoju
Dr. Matthew Olumide ADEPOJU is the Director General/Chief Executive of National Space Research and Development Agency and former President as well as a Fellow of Geoinformation Society of Nigeria. He is a space scientist with over thirty publications in both local and international journal and conference proceedings.
He has successful implemented many projects and led Expert Workshops for National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA), UN-COPOUS, United Nations (UN-FAO), World Bank, ECOWAS, UN-HABITAT, Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), GRID3, NHPDA, University of Columbia (CIESIN) NY and many more.
He is an alumnus of great institutions: Yaba College of Technology, Lagos State University, University of Nottingham, UK and University of Leicester UK. His multi-disciplinary academic and professional background from urban and regional planning to geographic information science and remote sensing with focus on environmental remote sensing, climate change, disaster management, geospatial-intelligence, socio-economic and infrastructural development, smart city and regional planning, land information systems, precision agriculture, forestry, population studies and many more through space technologies applications has been his main contributions to sustainable development goals and advancement of space science, technology and innovation.
