Maruf Sanni

Maruf Sanni is a Deputy Director of Research at the National Centre for Technology Management (NACETEM), an agency of the Federal Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology, Nigeria. He has a PhD in Public Policy from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, Durban, South Africa.

His research examines economic activities at the intersection of technological change and environmental sustainability. Specifically, his field of research includes low-carbon innovation development pathways, climate-resilient development, and climate change policy. He served as a research fellow at the United Nations University Institute for Natural Resources in Africa (UNU-INRA), Accra, Ghana, and the International Centre for Science and High Technology of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, Trieste, Italy (ICS-UNIDO).

He has also worked as a home-based intern with the United Nations Development Programme, Climate Change Adaptation Facility. He recently completed a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Postdoctoral Fellowship at the European Institute of Economics and the Environment (EIEE), Milan, Italy.

He is the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions National Contact Point for Nigeria under Horizon Europe projects. He is currently the head of the Technology Management Education and Training Department at NACETEM.
